When we sat down in June and talked about seriously beginning this journey of adoption, we asked ourselves WHY NOT?
WHY NOT rescue a child who is created in His image, who He died for as well and who therefore has intrinsic worth?
WHY NOT give a child the opportunity to live in a two-parent home with a loving mother and father and a life-long relationship with siblings?
WHY NOT introduce this child to the loving embrace of Jesus Christ, ultimately affecting them for eternity?
WHY NOT show love because "We love because he first loved us." (1 John 4:19). Isn't it is time for us to realize that our lives are not our own?
WHY NOT read the well over 40 verses in the old testament and see God's concern and compassion for the orphans.
WHY NOT take advantage of the $13,000 tax credit the government has set in place to help adoptive families cover their expenses?
WHY NOT imitate Jesus? The whole bible is about how God has adopted us sinners into his own family. It definitely wasn't easy. He had to send His own son to die on a cross so that we could have eternal life with Him.
WHY NOT be the feet of Jesus and go to the orphan? "I will not leave you as orphans. I will come to you." John 14:18. Who's going to do it?
WHY NOT actually take serious the biblical mandate: "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress..." (James 1:27)
WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO ASK YOURSELF...WHY NOT ME??
