First and foremost we want to say thank you. Thank you for praying. Thank you for giving. And thank you for encouraging us on through this process. We are already feeling God's presence throughout this journey. We are truly humbled and appreciative by your generosity and love. Our little +1 says "Trok chi" (thank you in Lingala)!
PRAY:
In II Corinthians 1:8-11 Paul experienced major pressures and knew He only made it through by God answering the prayers of others. We, as followers of Jesus, know the power of prayer and would ask that you would pray for these things:· Our child. Pray for health, healing and safety. When those who hold him in their arms, may he feel our touch, warmth and love.
· Grace, mercy and patience
· Aunts, uncles, Mimis, PeePaws, and Nanas and Papas to have an easy adjustment and love him just like their own
· Keldon and Karsyn to have an easy adjustment and are overfilled with complete love that has no boundaries. That they see past the "color"
· Our travel there and safety while in the country
· The paperwork process. That all goes so smoothly.
· The expense of the adoption. That the Lord will provide exceedingly above measure (2 Corinthians 9:8)
· For those who read our story and don't know Jesus. May they find Him and spend eternity in His loving embrace!!!
· Last but not least, ask God what YOUR part shall be in taking care of "the least of these" (Matthew 25:45)
ENCOURAGE:
Believe it or not, a lot of people think we're crazy. The biggest concern we've heard is, "Do you think you'll be able to handle all of the challenges of having an adopted child?" We know that God wouldn't ask anything of us (James 1:27) that He knew we couldn't handle or overcome. But it does help to face these obstacles with lots of love and encouragement (Hebrews 10:24). So please know a phone call, a letter, comment, email, text, etc of support will be greatly appreciated!!
GIVE:
Adoption, as we all know is very expensive. Most of you will not be able to meet our child and have an active part in their life. But know by simply giving, it will make such a huge impact. How often can you give knowing that your gift will directly and permanently change a life? This gift will. Any money received above and beyond our expenses will be given to help others pursue adoption. We will also be taking a suitcase of essential items and toys to give back to our little one's temporary home!
